About Copeland Distillery

Based in Donaghadee, Northern Ireland, Copeland Distillery crafts award-winning gin, rum, whiskey, vodka, and coffee liqueur

The Problem

Their previous website posed several challenges, with limitations, and It was hard for the team to update content and manage products.

Our Solution

I built a modern, versatile website that delivers on multiple fronts:

  • E‑commerce Integration: A robust online shop sells spirits (gin, whiskey, rum, vodka, coffee liqueur), merchandise, gift cards, and more.
  • Tour Booking System: Visitors can effortlessly book tours and events (including the Copeland Distillery Experience) directly via the site, linked to internal scheduling systems.
  • Dynamic Content Offering: Pages for new product releases, with ability to pre-register, and rich cocktail recipes allow engagement and repeat visits.
  • Visual & Brand Storytelling: Enhanced imagery and curated content reflect the distillery’s coastal roots, smuggling heritage, and premium identity.
  • CMS Simplicity: The backend was revamped for easy updates, so staff can manage product listings, event dates, news articles, and more with minimal friction.

Impact

  • Easier online sales with customers buying directly from the site across spirit types, merchandise, and gifts.
  • Tour bookings became seamless, with strong visibility into upcoming events and distinct user flows.
  • The cocktail recipes and release pages increased engagement, encouraging deeper brand interaction and repeat site visits.
  • The new site fully aligns with Copeland Distillery’s personality: adventurous, storytelling-driven, and deeply rooted in its Northern Irish heritage.
