About Linzi Conway Art
Linzi Conway Art is the creative vision of an Irish mixed-media artist inspired by Ireland’s landscapes, coastal life, people, and memories.
Her process blends paint, textiles, free-motion embroidery and hand stitching, using a mix of heritage fabrics (linen, tweed, wool), vintage or pre-loved materials,producing richly textured, tactile art that evokes both visual beauty and emotional depth.
Clients can purchase original mixed-media textile artwork, fabric art, paintings, art cards, prints, and giftable items — or commission bespoke pieces, including highly personal “memory commissions” using sentimental fabric items (e.g. childhood clothes, wedding dresses, etc.), transforming them into bespoke, meaningful artworks.
The Challenge
When Linzi Conway Art approached me to design their website, the key needs were:
- To present a diverse range of artworks , from mixed-media textile pieces to paintings, prints, and merchandise, in a unified, elegant way.
- To showcase the artist’s unique creative process and the emotional value of pieces, especially commissioned memory-based artworks.
- To create an intuitive, easy-to-navigate online shop and gallery, making it simple for visitors to browse, purchase or commission art.
- To build a site that reflects the handcrafted, artisanal quality of the work — visually textured, personal, with a sense of heritage and emotional resonance.
- To allow easy management and updating of the site as new artworks, commissions, and products are added over time.
The Solution
I designed and developed a bespoke WordPress site for Linzi Conway Art that:
- Organises content into clear sections: shop (mixed media textile art, fabric art, paintings, prints, merchandise), gallery, commissions, about, and contact — giving a smooth flow between browsing, inspiration, and buying/commissions.
- Uses strong imagery and visual hierarchy to highlight the rich texture and handcrafted nature of the pieces — so visitors immediately sense the tactile, artisan quality of the art.
- Includes a dedicated “Commissions” workflow, explaining how memory-based art is created: from initial conversation → design → final handcrafted artwork — helping build trust and emotional connection with prospective clients.
